Love them or hate them, gas cylinders have been a familiar feature of our landscape for many years. But not for much longer. There are now much more efficient ways of storing gas and these BFG’s are therefore slowly becoming redundant up and down the country.
The National Grid has a portfolio of over a hundred former gasholders to be dismantled within the coming years, each of which will leave behind a large circular concrete void in the ground.
There’s nothing more sustainable than re-use and this is re-use on a massive scale.
